Second Place is First Place Loser

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for.

Maureen Dowd, Op-Ed columnist for the New York Times and winner of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize said it.

I have always said, "Second place is first place loser."

It's the same message, but Maureen said it better. And won the Pulitzer. So there is something to be said for that.

The Huffington Post just ran an article on how to be happy. Or in the very least, how not to settle. Some days all we can do is wait for the whimper to call it to a close. Other days, we may lay claim to victory by simply deciding that tomorrow will be better.
